Despite global uprisings against police brutality and systemic racism, many U.S. bishops and cardinals have not spoken publicly about these issues, while others have yet to turn talk into action, according to the Catholic social justice organization Call To Action.

In this facilitation guide, we provide a template for how you might hold a People's History of Vatican II conversation or gathering.

We filled Advent 2020, the culmination of the National Campaign, with liturgies, actions, and reflections. The goal of the National Campaign was to strengthen our strategic thinking and coordination, but it also demonstrated the vibrancy of our movement. In January 2021, Call To Action’s chapter leaders begin a series of virtual presentations on justice issues in the church and world. CTA Executive Director Zach Johnson and long-time leader Caryl Callsen will present on homelessness.

For the past few months Call To Action’s Lobbying Team has been working on an initiative to build relationships in the work for racial justice, increasing accountability and transparency in the relationship between bishops and the laity.

Youth v Gov follows the constitutional equal protection case of 3 Catholic youth (including one CTA member), several Indigenous youth, and more, 21 kids in total who have been seeking protection of life for all.

Join Call To Action’s Alternatives Working Group for the Liturgy of Lament, a liturgy for Catholics who have been disenfranchised from their parish communities because of an abuse of power. Here we will express our pain and grief together, finding comfort and hope in our sharing.

During these ecumenical liturgies held over Zoom, we will reflect on topics including darkness, lament, waiting, resilience, queer joy, and family. We welcome queer and trans folks looking to nourish their spiritualities in a life-giving and alternative way throughout this Advent season.
