Since June, our four strategy working groups have been building toward Advent. We are now entering the home stretch of our National Campaign. In these final months of Ordinary Time, we invite you to step into our work for justice.

As summer comes to an end, we at Call To Action once more look back and look forward—at what we have cultivated and at what has emerged organically. We invite you to plant your resources and grow our Church with us, through our campaign for vital, coordinated church reform.

All of these projects are in their early stages, and we need you to help bring them to fruition. Wherever you are in the country, there are ways for you to support Black, Indigenous, and anti-racist Catholic organizing.

On Tuesday, October 6, join us for an hour-long call about how to start a chapter! At this gathering, you’ll connect with other people around the country who are thinking about starting CTA chapters.

Mac will be working with CTA for the 2020-2021 school year as part of his M.Div. training at Loyola University Chicago.

How did Vatican II shape individuals, Call To Action, and our Church as a whole? In a second phase of this project, we are publicly documenting memories of Vatican II through a series of posts on our website.

There is no single blueprint for a CTA chapter. We encourage people to start chapters to meet the needs of their own communities.

As July turns to August, we’ve scheduled the next two months of our working group meetings.

We chose Advent as a time for coordinated action because of its symbolic resonance. Advent is the beginning of the Catholic year. It is the time of preparation for the birth of Christ, a time of gestation, anticipation, and longing.

We are living through a radical reclamation of the story of the United States, and I believe that Call To Action must play a role.
