On the evening of Nov. 6, more than 1,000 people gathered in Milwaukee to kick off the 39th annual Call to Action conference. The event offered an infusion of lay empowerment in a season dominated by the papal visit to the U.S. and the Synod of Bishops in Rome.

Last weekend at our Call To Action conference, Call To Action partnered with Milwaukee's Coalition for Justice and held a march to Red Arrow Park where Dontre Hamilton, an unarmed black man was shot 14 times by a local police officer.

We invite all Catholics to join us in creating Catholic workplaces (hospitals, schools, parishes, diocesan offices, affiliated organizations) where Truth is the guide, Justice the end, and Love the guiding force.

A week from today at the Call To Action Conference in Milwaukee (Nov. 7) we will join the Coalition for Justice for a rally to raise awareness for the need of further racial justice in this county.

It's rare that the resignation of an entire board of directors is a good sign for an organization. For Call to Action (CTA), the recent resignation of the board was not only intentional, it was an attempt to signify an new era of justice for a group whose central platform is seeking reform in the Roman Catholic church.

On Saturday, October 17. 2015, Christa Kerber and her family went to Rome, but not for a vacation. Christa, a longtime supporter of Call To Action, is there on our behalf.

An internationally known author, theologian, storyteller and lecturer, Megan McKenna teaches at several colleges and universities and does retreats, workshops and parish missions.

The Denver Chapter of Call To Action recently hosted an event focused on Pope Francis’ encyclical, Laudato Si.
