When news broke that their local Bishop would be retiring, Call To Action members in Albany, New York initiated an effort to gather the feedback of local Catholics about the needs of the region.

In quick response to Bishop Paprocki’s appalling plan to mark the passage of the marriage equality law with prayers of exorcism, Catholics in IL quickly planned a counter vigil to thank Catholic legislators.

Catholics for Marriage Equality will be celebrating with thousands of others this afternoon in Chicago, where Governor Quinn (a Catholic!) will be signing the law giving gay, lesbian and bisexual Illinoisians the right to marry the love of their life.

At the cathedral in Springfield today, Catholics will gather to support the dignity of LGBT people.

Call To Action is joining together with other lay Catholic organizations to launch an online version of the Vatican survey "Pastoral Challenges to the Family in the Context of Evangelization."

The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops is meeting this week (Nov. 11-13, 2013) to discuss issues important to Catholics. As they do, progressive Catholic organizations renew their call for consultation and dialogue.
