Meet the Re/Gen 2026 Cohort

  • Cradle Catholic to Clown, Kelsey is a working admin professional in NJ who spends her free time doing improv and in all aspects of community theater. From a young age Kelsey has had a deep connection with her faith, at one point having aspirations to be the first female pope. Since discovering her queer identity and deconstructing Kelsey has been focused on what does it mean to call one's self Catholic and how can the Church be a place where all people can be truly welcomed. She believes that growing the church is not a matter of conversion but of opening more doors and focusing more on the mission of peace, love and justice.

  • Miguel Ashley Hernández Urbaneja is a Venezuelan journalist, social entrepreneur, and ministry leader dedicated to community engagement, education, and inclusive faith initiatives. He is the co-founder and executive director of The Re-Church Project, a nonprofit organization that helps churches strengthen outreach, technology, and welcoming ministries for diverse communities. Miguel earned a Fulbright Scholarship to study in the United States and completed a master’s degree in Communication with a concentration in Social Media Strategies at Georgia State University. He is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity at McAfee School of Theology at Mercer University. With nearly a decade of experience in communications, education, and nonprofit work, Miguel is passionate about immigrant advocacy, LGBTQ+ inclusion, and creating spaces where people from all backgrounds feel seen, valued, and welcomed.

  • Alejandrina Guzman (she/her) is a first-generation, disabled chicana activist from Azle, Texas. She is passionate about building a better world for everyone. She organizes alongside disabled siblings on the local, state, and national level demanding equitable policies for all disabled peoples. Alejandrina loves dancing to cumbias, drinking coffee, and cheering on Las Chivas.

  • Jorge Palacios Jr. has been the migration coordinator for youth engagement for the Ignatian Solidarity Network since 2022. Raised on a farm in northern Colorado, he comes from a mixed-status household, is a proud Mexican-American, and attended Regis University in Denver, CO. Jorge has a background in ministry, education, music, theology, and conservation work. As Migration Coordinator, he works to connect the Ignatian family to education, advocacy, and youth leadership development, particularly in the area of migration justice. Jorge enjoys photography, writing, and making music, has remained active in Denver’s immigrant activist community, and is self-publishing a zine on the legacy of the El Salvadoran civil war, its martyrs, and U.S. imperialism and the need for resistance.

  • Elizabeth is a long time seeker of beauty. Raised in the Catholic tradition, Elizabeth went on to receive a Masters of Theological Studies from Loyola University Maryland in 2019. Since then she has done a little bit of a lot of things including community and political organizing, making and occasionally selling a bunch of art, and most prominently helping to run the summer camp and immersion programs at Big Laurel Learning Center in Mingo County, West Virginia.

  • Jorden Chambliss is a passionate actor and creative dedicated to authentic storytelling and meaningful community impact. Through The Re-Church Project, a nonprofit organization he co-leads, Jorden works to foster greater inclusivity, affirmation, and belonging within faith communities. Combining his passion for the arts, service, and ministry, he seeks to create spaces where people feel welcomed, valued, and empowered to grow.

  • Nora is currently in her second year working as an attorney in her hometown of Edmonds, Washington. She grew up Catholic and attended Catholic schools from kindergarten through law school. Nora participated in the Jesuit Volunteer Corps after college and served at a non-profit law firm, Tennessee Justice Center, in Nashville, Tennessee. During her volunteer year, Nora worked with clients navigating the state’s Medicaid program and did healthcare policy advocacy work. During law school, Nora participated in multiple student organizations including the Public Interest Law Foundation and Womxn’s Law Caucus. Nora has always felt a pull towards recognizing injustices and working to make her community a more just place. She is really excited for the opportunity to participate in this program and focus on social justice and intentional community. In her free time, Nora enjoys spending time with friends and family, playing with her cat, and distance running.
