Synod on the Family 2015

Synod on the Family 2015 .jpg

This October, the Bishops will meet again to discuss how the Church ministers to families around the world.

Very few families will be represented but the Bishops have been charged with listening to Catholics before the meeting to better know their needs and experiences.

It is time to make sure your voice is heard!

Take Action

  • Sign the petition — ask the leaders to invite a diverse list of lay experts to testify at the Synod.

  • Write a letter — Many diocesan papers are asking for conversation on the topic and local newspapers love opinion letters from their readers.

  • Ask for a meeting with your Bishop — Bishops often sit down with groups and individuals. Call his office and ask for a meeting yourself or for your CTA chapter, parents group or other organization.

  • Talk to your pastor — A competent Bishop will ask priests what they've been hearing from their congregation. Make sure your priest knows the challenges and joys of his parishioners.

  • Check out the Our Catholic Family page — We've joined with other Church reform groups to help Catholics to make their voices heard. Check back for the latest actions and information.
