Primacy of Conscience Webinar

Call To Action is hosting a Webinar on Thursday, January 28 at 7:00 p.m. CT The Prime Directive: A Discussion on the Catholic Church’s Teaching on the Primacy of Conscience with Aaron Bianco. In this webinar we will discuss the Catholic teaching of conscience. This is a teaching that so many in the Church wish we would not discuss. From the earliest Church Fathers, we hear this notion of conscience and the following of our own conscience. As Pope Francis eloquently said, ”So we also must learn to listen more to our conscience.

Be careful, however: this does not mean we ought to follow our ego, do whatever interests us, whatever suits us, whatever pleases us. That is not conscience. Conscience is the interior space in which we can listen to and hear the truth, the good, the voice of God. It is the inner place of our relationship with Him, who speaks to our heart and helps us to discern, to understand the path we ought to take, and once the decision is made, to move forward, to remain faithful."What does that mean for us?  How do we incorporate that into our daily lives, our struggles with the Church and our ability to remain faithful to ourselves as well as the Church? Please plan on joining this conversation and hearing the words of those who remained faithful to their conscience before us.

Aaron Bianco studied in Rome, earning a Doctorate of Sacred Theology (S.T.D.) with an emphasis in Early Church Mothers and Fathers at the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas (the Angelicum). Aaron is currently the Call To Action’s Program Associate.
