50 years after answering the U.S. Bishop’s “call to action”, Call To Action will once again gather this November to celebrate their 50th anniversary with a conference, with the theme of “Forged in the Fire: We’re Still Here.” The past, present, and future of both the organization and the wider Catholic Church reform and social justice movements will be celebrated throughout the weekend. Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient Sr. Simone Campbell, of NETWORK/Nuns on the Bus fame will be the keynote speaker which will be one of many conversations over the weekend highlighting Catholic social teaching, equality, and activism. Dr. Craig Ford, Assistant Professor of Ethics at the Candler School of Theology at Emory University will open the conference. Additional programming to be announced soon.
