CTA New York Chapters Respond to NY Passing Child Victims Act

Call To Action expresses our heartfelt gratitude to our New York chapters for their tireless work to help pass the Child Victims Act. Below is a statement from our New York chapters:

“Over the past number of years, the New York State Chapters of Call to Action have been working closely together to advocate for passage of the Child Victims Act.  We are so grateful for the leadership of Nancy Lorence, Art McGrath and the late Margaret Meehan of the NYC-Metro Chapter for their countless trips to Albany, many in bad weather, to meet with legislators.  Upstate members who live closer to Albany have been available when needed under guidance of Bob Corliss.  We have supported our friends in Call to Action who, as parents of children abused by priests, have also endured the often unrewarding visits with legislators.  The Chapters joined the efforts of a number of other organizations in order to speak as one voice during this process.”
