Journey with Us this Lenten Season

Call To Action is excited to announce our 2023 Lenten Calendar. Sponsored by CTA's Indigenous Solidarity Collective and Anti-Racism Team, this calendar will feature over 40 days of prayer and study that will lead us into action and solidarity with Indigenous communities.

During Advent 2022, Call To Action published a calendar focused on Indigenous rights and activism. The calendar included 42 of the 94 calls to action from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada. These calls were directed at both the Canadian government and Catholic officials and included demands for educational, criminal justice, and health care reform for Indigenous communities.

This Lent, we’re providing the remaining 52 calls to action for justice, reconciliation, and healing. Beginning Ash Wednesday, we will share one of the TRC calls to action for each day of Lent. Each daily email will include a meditation, a prayer, and resources for further study.

Then, for each Sunday during Lent, we'll release a longer reflection written by a member of the Anti-Racism Team; these reflections will help us turn inward so we can focus on our own reconciliation regarding racism and oppression.

These daily meditations and weekly reflections are meant to be both inspirational and sobering. It's our hope and our prayer that sharing these calls to action from our sisters and brothers in Canada will lead us to generate calls within ourselves, our church, and our nation.

Please join us this Lent as we continue to cultivate our solidarity with Indigenous communities across the U.S. and Canada and discern these calls as individuals and as a broader Catholic community.
