Join Vision Council committees

Call To Action’s Vision Council (governing body) strives to implement a governance model that reflects our mission, especially through transparency, accountability, and justice. The Vision Council functions through seven committees, all of which are open to our entire membership. We established this committee system in 2020, so we're currently doing outreach to bring in new members. You can read more about each committee below.

If you are interested in joining one or more committees, please fill out the form on this page! Then in June, a member of the committee will contact you to discuss and mutually discern your participation (this is not a competitive process). No expertise is required to join any committee. Most committees meet monthly and expect members to do a few hours of work between meetings.

Committees bring together members and staff for the following:

  • Anti-Racism Team: Guides CTA in applying an anti-racist stance across our work. Develops opportunities for CTA staff, Vision Council members, and general membership to participate in anti-racist education and action. Plays an integral role in the development of programming and in organizational decision-making to ensure that anti-racism is built into the organization’s policies, programs, and spending decisions from the beginning.

  • Communications Committee: Supports staff with communications tasks and strategies. Shapes CTA’s internal discernment on key issues and strategizes how to communicate our positions to a wider audience.

  • Development Committee: Supports CTA staff in fundraising efforts. Helps carry out development tasks as needed (such as outreach to existing and potential donors), and consults on development history, strategy, timelines, and processes.

  • Finance Committee: Provides oversight of CTA’s financial investments, budget, and spending. Helps develop proposals on major financial decisions.

  • Governance Committee: Organizes and maintains the Vision Council, its committees, and other channels through which CTA is governed. This includes proposing governance and membership processes, maintaining bylaws and records, and coordinating agendas for Vision Council meetings.

  • Personnel Committee: Provides input on CTA staffing, including the annual review of the Executive Director, consults on organizational staffing needs and development, compensation, and policies.

  • Programs and Strategy Committee: Guides discernment of what programming (mission-oriented activity) CTA should maintain and develop, and guides how CTA’s programs should together advance CTA’s mission.
