Magdala celebrations

As ChurchWatch went to press, over 240 celebrations of St. Mary of Magdala were occurring nationwide, dozens of them sponsored by regional CTA affiliates. The observances are part of the Women in Church Leadership project developed by FutureChurch in partnership with CTA (ad, next page). Watch for a roundup of Magdala events in CTA News next month.

Regional conferences

CTA regional conferences in 2000 have been drawing enthusiastic audiences, many with Jeannine Gramick as a major speaker. In March CTA Iowa drew 75, and nearly 200 came to Philadelphia. In April, Nebraska drew 60, New England over 300, and Pittsburgh over 80; Mid-Atlantic brought 200 to Baltimore; CTA Arizona gathered 175 in Phoenix and Tucson. In May Upstate New York hosted 200 in Utica. In June CTA New Mexico’s first conference attracted over 100 to Albuquerque.
