CTA is part of a national task force circulating a U.S. Referendum for Church Reform like the one that 2.3 million Austrians and Germans signed in 1995. Goal is a million U.S. signers by Pentecost, 1997. Points in the referendum text include equal rights for women, women and married priests, popular voice in selecting bishops, primacy of conscience in matters of sexual morality, and welcome for the divorced-remarried. CTA president Linda Pieczynski was part of a We Are Church Referendum press conference May 22 in Washington to kick off the campaign.
