Action's for women's ordination

WOC’s Sign Campaign

The Chicago archdiocese is running a $1 million ad campaign to recruit seminarians, including billboards that say “Waiting for a sign from God? This is it. Consider the Priesthood.” Women’s Ordination Conference has already raised $12,000 for “countersigns” — highway billboards (above) and signs at subway and ‘el’ stations (right). Caitlin Faerevaag (right) was part of a prayer service blessing the signs at a downtown Chicago corner on June 4. (Pictures by Don Wedd)

Picket signs at Boston ordination

Over 50 demonstrators walked the “Ordain Women” picket line at the Boston cathedral before the ordination Mass May 27. Cardinal Bernard Law stopped to scold the protesters, insisting that the ban on women priests “is not a matter of justice. It’s a matter of faith.” The action was organized by Massachusetts Women Church, and included many CTA members. (Photo: Jan Leary)
