West Coast CTA Conference set for Aug. 8-10 in So. California

The first-ever CTA regional conference on the West Coast has been scheduled for the weekend of August 8-10 at Claremont McKenna College in Claremont, California. The conference is being jointly planned by CTA regional affiliates in northern and southern California.

The keynote address, "Discipleship of Renewal," will be given by Michael Crosby, OFM Cap. The event will also feature popular CTA national speakers Dr. Carmel McEnroy, RSM, and Fr. Patrick Brennan, and University of San Diego theologian Florence Gilman. There will be sessions on social concerns, including refugees and immigrants (Dr. R. Moser, Catholic Charities, San Diego) and gay/lesbian issues (J. Schexnayder, Catholic Charities, Oakland).

Claremont is situated in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains south of Los Angeles, just 15 minutes from Ontario International Airport. Accommodations are available in college dorms, with meals catered by Marriott, or at the nearby Ramada Inn. Registration fees are reasonable, and a $10 early bird discount is offered until June 1.
