CTA board changes

Dominican Sr. Mary Ann Mueninghoff is CTA's new board president. She took over the reins from Linda Pieczynski in January. A CTA member since 1979 and a board member since 1986, Mueninghoff is the former director of the Sinsinawa Dominican Apostolic Volunteer program. She now works in student affairs at the University of Notre Dame. In her first letter to CTA members last month about membership renewal, Mary Ann spoke of her "joy to be a part of a group that tries to be inclusive of everyone - children and elders, women and sweatshop workers, bishops and lesbians, men and sisters, gays and people of color, the ordinary, the disabled, the extraordinary." She invites dialogue with members. Contact her at 219 631-7200 or MaryAnn.Mueninghoff.1@nd.edu

Paul Scarbrough of Norwalk, Conn., is CTA's newest board member. A member of Dignity/USA and former president of Dignity/New Haven, Paul was co-chair of the Dignity/USA National Convention in Boston in 1997. He also works in youth ministry at a local parish. Professionally, Paul is an acoustical engineer with Jaffe Holden Scarbrough Acoustics, Inc. His credits include acoustical redesign of the Kennedy Center Concert Hall in Washington and renovations at the Cleveland Orchestra's Severance Hall and at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. When the sound system failed in the opening session of the 1998 CTA National Conference in Milwaukee, Paul is the one who came forward as a volunteer and completely fixed the problem overnight.
