SOA protest rally in Washington April 2-3

School of the Americas Watch is expecting several thousand supporters to converge on Capitol Hill April 2-3 to rally and lobby Congress to close the school. Bills to do so - S. 873 and HR 732 - have 150 co-sponsors in the House. Many SOA opponents who cannot come to Washington will lobby legislators by mail, and will participate in an April 6-19 juice-only fast, putting Lenten asceticism in service to justice.

SOA Watch and its founder, Maryknoll Fr. Roy Bourgeois, will be receiving the 2000 CTA Conference Award Nov. 3 in Milwaukee.
