CTA to offer day of music, story and dance with Martha Ann Kirk

Internationally known as a theologian and sacred dancer, Dr. Martha Ann Kirk, CCVI, of Incarnate Word University in San Antonio, will offer a daylong workshop Nov. 5 at the CTA conference in Milwaukee. Dr. Kirk will share stories of Christian, Jewish, and Muslim women from her forthcoming book, Women of Bible Lands: A Pilgrimage to Compassion and Wisdom. Participants will make a pilgrimage to the deep center of the heart for wisdom and healing. Her co-presenter, veteran singer-songwriter Covita Moroney, will share Middle Eastern music and melodies from her CD, Sofia's Table.

Kirk was scholar in residence in Jerusalem in 1995, was a presenter at the World Council of Churches in Zimbabwe in 1998, and has graced conferences in India, Hong Kong, Mexico, and throughout the U.S. For building bridges among Jews, Christians and Muslims, she received a 2003 peacemaker award from the mayor of San Antonio.
