2008 Leadership Award given posthumously to Sr. Dorothy "Dot" Stang, shot to death in Brazil's Amazon rain forest after 40 years defending the rights of peasant farmers and protecting the environment against loggers and landowners. Her martyrdom is the subject of a documentary narrated by Martin Sheen.
