CTA 20/30 Logo

CTA 20/30 is an inclusive community of Catholics in our 20s and 30s who seek justice in the Catholic Church. We seek to deepen our faith, to integrate faith with action and, in so doing, to transform our church through a lens of anti-racism and anti-oppression principles.

LGBTQ Pilgrimage to World Youth Day

n July 2013, seven brave young adults are headed to World Youth Day in Brazil to create the space now for LGBTQ people within the Catholic Church. At a time when church officials are speaking against LGBTQ people, these pilgrims will counter the harmful rhetoric with the message that WE ARE ALL EQUALLY BLESSED!

Three ways to support this powerful witness:

1. Donate to help the pilgrims get to Rio.

2. Make rainbow rosaries and other rainbow crafts for the pilgrims to pass out. Email pilgrim Delfin to find out where to send them.

3. Share your contacts. Do you have friends going to World Youth Day this year with whom we could connect? Email Delfin to put us in touch.

  • Conference Programming Committee

The Conference Programming Committee coordinates and promotes events for young adults during the annual Call To Action Conference. We facilitate opportunities for people to connect with one another and to pray together. And we always plan some downtime for socializing.

  • Outreach Committee

The Outreach Committee seeks to communicate with current CTA 20/30 members and beyond, reaching out and welcoming a broad, diverse group into the Call To Action movement. Our priorities for the year include creating Webinars around topics of interest, providing tools to spread the word about CTA 20/30 at public events, and assisting with outreach for the 2013 Call To Action Conference.

  • World Youth Day / Events Committee

In July 2013, seven young adults will travel under the banner of Equally Blessed to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to witness for LGBTQ Catholics at World Youth Day. Pilgrims will be preparing for the trip by discussing non-violent direct action as well as traditional and progressive Catholic approaches to sexuality. Interested in taking part in the pilgrimage by supporting the pilgrims? The World Youth Day Committee is seeking volunteers to help make giveaways (e.g. bracelets, rosary beads, rainbow ribbons, prayer cards) the pilgrims can bring to Brazil this summer to spread the message of love and GLBTQ justice in the church. Contact Delfin if you have an interest in making such giveaways or any ideas about what we can distribute. Together, let’s make sure that “Go and Make Disciples of all Nations” includes everyone (official World Youth Day theme)!!!

  • Online Committee

The Online Committee seeks to engage and build community among 20/30 members and other young progressive Catholics through online media. We will be focused on continuing to improve and expand the Young Adult Catholics blog, creating a national calendar of events of interest, and developing a list of resources (books, movies/documentaries, websites, prayer resources, etc.) for use by the CTA 20/30 community.
